Palestinian Foreign Ministry's Call to Supporters of the Decision Against UNRWA
Ramallah, January 29 (Hibya) - The Palestinian Foreign Ministry called on those who support Israel's decision against UNRWA to end the occupation, implement the two-state solution, and ensure the return of refugees to their homes.
The Palestinian Foreign Ministry emphasized that stopping UNRWA's operations is an extension of genocide, displacement, and plans to eliminate the Palestinian cause.
The Ministry stated that UNRWA is an international humanitarian leverage that mitigates the historical injustice against the Palestinian people and that the silence of some countries regarding the occupiers' decision to halt the agency's work constitutes a clear and severe violation of international law and international legitimacy resolutions.
Accordingly, the Ministry stressed that eliminating, dissolving, or replacing UNRWA in accordance with international law is not possible. The occupying power has no right to make such a decision, especially as it does not have legal sovereignty over the occupied Palestinian territories. The Ministry stated that those who claim to support Israel's decision should instead support the immediate implementation of Palestinian rights in a way that ensures the end of occupation and representation of the Palestinian state on the ground.
