Putin held phone talks with Pezeshkian and Netanyahu
Moscow, June 14 (Hibya) – Russian President Vladimir Putin held phone conversations with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
President Putin spoke with Pezeshkian and Netanyahu following the dangerous escalation triggered by Israel’s military action against Iran.
Putin extended his condolences to Iranian officials and citizens over the deaths of many people, including civilians, as a result of Israeli attacks.
Vladimir Putin emphasized that Russia condemns Israel’s actions carried out in violation of the UN Charter and international law.
In his conversation with the Israeli Prime Minister, the Russian leader stressed the importance of restarting negotiations and resolving all issues related to Iran’s nuclear program solely through political and diplomatic means. He also expressed Russia’s willingness to mediate to prevent further escalation.
It was agreed that the Russian side would maintain close contact with both Iranian and Israeli officials in order to find a solution to the current situation, which could have disastrous consequences for the entire region.
