Putin promises aid to North Korea after floods
Moscow, August 4 (Hibya) - The Russian government announced on Saturday that Russian President Vladimir Putin had expressed his condolences to North Korean leader Kim Jong-un following widespread floods that caused deaths and the destruction of thousands of homes in North Korea.
In a telegram sent to Kim, Putin said: "At this time, please convey my sympathy and support to all who have lost loved ones due to the storm. You can always rely on our help and support."
On July 27, North Korea received record rainfall, leading to deaths and widespread destruction of homes and land, especially in the northern part of the country near the border with China.
