Qatar condemns Houthi attacks on Saudi Arabia
Doha, September 20 (Hibya) – Qatar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned attempts by the Houthis to target civilians and civilian assets in Saudi Arabia’s capital Riyadh and the cities of Bish, Taif, Farasan and Yanbu.
In a statement, Qatar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned the Houthi group’s attempt to target Saudi Arabia’s capital Riyadh with a ballistic missile, as well as attempts to attack civilians and civilian assets in the cities of Bish, Taif, Farasan and Yanbu.
The statement said the attacks constituted hostile acts and placed civilian lives at unacceptable risk. It also said the attacks represented a violation of Saudi Arabia’s sovereignty and the rules-based international order.
Qatar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs reiterated its opposition to attacks against civilians and civilian assets, stressing the importance of immediately ending such actions.
The statement said Qatar stands in solidarity with Saudi Arabia and supports all legitimate measures taken by the country to protect its sovereignty, security, territorial integrity and interests.
Qatar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs also stated that Saudi Arabia’s security is an integral part of Qatar’s security and an element of the collective security of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries.
