According to a statement from the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Secretary General, Dr. Ahmed bin Hassan Al Hammadi, took part in the High-Level Segment of the Disarmament Conference held in Geneva.

In a statement issued before the conference, the Secretary General emphasized that the State of Qatar adopts a firm national policy and clear positions on disarmament issues, based on its commitment to maintaining international peace and security and its belief in the necessity of supporting all efforts aimed at global disarmament.

Al Hammadi stated that Qatar has joined several major international disarmament agreements and continues to develop and update its national legislation regarding weapons of mass destruction in accordance with its commitments under the signed treaties.
