Russia: 162 drones shot down over Russian territory last night
Moscow, June 2 (Hibya) – As the second round of peace talks between Russia and Ukraine is expected to begin today in Istanbul, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported that 162 Ukrainian drones were destroyed over Russian territory last night.
The statement said: “From 20:10 on June 1 to 02:00 on June 2 Moscow time, active air defense systems intercepted and destroyed 162 Ukrainian-type unmanned aerial vehicles.”
According to the Ministry of Defense, 57 drones were destroyed over the Kursk region, 31 over Belgorod, 27 over Lipetsk, 16 over Voronezh, 11 over Bryansk, 11 over Ryazan, and one over the Tambov region.
Two more drones were also destroyed over Crimea.
The previous evening, Ukraine had blown up a bridge in Russia’s Kursk region, killing seven people, and later launched a large-scale attack on Russian air bases.
