Russia ready to negotiate with the US on a 50% defense budget cut
Moscow, February 25 (Hibya) - Russian President Vladimir Putin stated that Moscow is ready to negotiate with Washington on a 50% reduction in military spending and that Beijing may join later.
In the TV program "Moscow. Kremlin. Putin," in response to a question from journalist Pavel Zarubin, Putin said: "We can reach an agreement with the US. We are not against it, I think it is a good idea. The US cuts by 50%. And we cut. And if China wants, they can join later."
The Russian president called Trump's proposal "a good initiative" and stated that "we are ready to negotiate."
