Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov conveyed his congratulations on the occasion of Africa Day.

Lavrov stated that Russia sees the Pan-African integration union as a key partner in building a just multipolar world. "I believe that the African Union’s executive body under your leadership plays a central role in ensuring the continent’s stability and security, and in implementing the tasks of sustainable development. Mr. Youssouf, I wish you health and success in your important role as Chairperson of the African Union Commission, and to the friendly peoples of Africa, progress and prosperity," he said.
