Deniz polisinden Adalar çevresinde 'deniz taksi' denetimi

If passed, the law will prohibit all children under sixteen in Australia from using social media. According to the draft, responsibility will fall not on the children or their parents but on social media companies like Meta, the parent company of Facebook and Instagram.

Should the law be implemented, it would be one of the strictest in the world regarding social media use.

The bill was introduced to the Australian Parliament last week, and Prime Minister Anthony Albanese wants the vote to occur before the current session ends.

The largest opposition party in Parliament is expected to support the bill, making its passage seem almost certain.

However, Google and Meta are urging a delay. They want to wait for the results of tests on technology designed to verify the age of social media users. Without this technology, they believe it will be difficult to determine who is under sixteen, making compliance with the law impossible.

The owner of social network X, Elon Musk, expressed concerns that the law could negatively impact children's and teenagers' human rights. Last week, Musk accused the Australian government of trying to control people's access to the World Wide Web (www).
