Spanish Foreign Minister Albares Meets Brazilian Counterpart Vieira
Madrid, February 17 (Hibya) – Spain’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, European Union, and Cooperation, Jose Manuel Albares, met with Brazil’s Foreign Minister Mauro Vieira within the framework of the Bilateral Permanent Commission Meeting.
Albares stated that they are celebrating the first meeting of the Bilateral Permanent Commission between Spain and Brazil.
During his meeting with Brazilian counterpart Mauro Vieira, Albares said, "We will continue working together to tackle global challenges, strengthen multilateralism, and act for the benefit of our peoples. We also discussed joint efforts within the framework of the UN Development Financing Conference in Seville and the 2026 Ibero-American Summit in Spain. We are committed to democracy and a fairer, more sustainable, and dignified world for all."
Albares emphasized that the Bilateral Commission between Spain and Brazil has produced a significant outcome, stating: "We have elevated our bilateral talks with Brazil to the level of presidential summits. This is the first Latin American country where we have implemented this format."
