Sybiha: The international community must act now
Kyiv, January 10 (Hibya) – Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha said, “Russia’s attacks undermine international security and peace efforts. The UN Security Council must convene an emergency meeting.”
Foreign Minister Sybiha announced that following Russia’s recent attacks and the use of medium-range ballistic missiles, the United Nations (UN) Security Council has been urgently convened.
The meeting is scheduled to take place on Monday, January 12, at 22:00 Kyiv time.
Sybiha stated that the meeting will address Russia’s clear violations of the UN Charter and called on Security Council members “to show unity by demanding an end to the aggression, the protection of civilians, and unwavering support for Ukraine’s sovereignty.”
“Russia’s attacks undermine the peace efforts of the United States, European countries, and other partners. The international community must act now to ensure accountability, increase pressure on the aggressor, and establish lasting peace,” Sybiha said.
