The world's oldest man, John Tinniswood, dies at 112
London, November 27 (Hibya) - According to a press release from Guinness World Records (GWR) published on Tuesday, the world's oldest man, John Tinniswood, died at the age of 112 on Monday in a care home in Southport, England.
His family told GWR in a press release: "His last day was surrounded by music and love".
Born on August 26, 1912, Tinniswood had held the record as the world's oldest living man since April 2024, following the death of 114-year-old Juan Vicente Pérez from Venezuela.
According to GWR, Tinniswood did not provide any specific explanation for his longevity, describing it as "pure luck".
Earlier this year, he told GWR: "You either live long or short, and there’s not much you can do about it".
However, Tinniswood, who advised doing everything in moderation to stay healthy, said: "If you drink too much, eat too much, or walk too much; if you do anything excessively, you will eventually suffer".
