Trump: Israel and Hezbollah Agreed to a Ceasefire
Washington, June 1 (Hibya) - United States (US) President Donald Trump announced following his conversation with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that Israeli troops planned to move toward Beirut had been turned back.
US President Donald Trump spoke with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
In his statement, Trump said he had a productive conversation with Netanyahu, adding, “There will be no soldiers going to Beirut, and the units that were already on their way have been turned back.”
Trump also stated that discussions had been held with Hezbollah through senior representatives, saying, “An agreement has been reached to stop all fire.”
Trump further wrote in his post, “Israel will not attack them, and they will not attack Israel.”
There has not yet been any official confirmation from the parties regarding Trump’s statements.
