Tsahkna: Russia's defense industry depends on aluminum
Tallinn, June 12 (Hibya) - Estonian Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna called on the European Union (EU) to impose new sanctions aimed at limiting Russia's military capacity and proposed banning alumina exports to Russia.

Pointing to the production dependencies of Russia's military industry, Tsahkna stated: "Russia's defense industry depends on aluminum. Aluminum, in turn, depends on alumina. Estonia has proposed an EU ban on alumina exports to Russia."
Expressing determination regarding the deterrent effect and effectiveness of sanctions, Tsahkna concluded his message by saying: "If we are serious about increasing the cost of aggression, we must close this loophole."
