TurkStat-Consumer prices increased by 3.37 pct. monthly, annual inflation at 75.45 pct.
Istanbul, June 3 (Hibya) - Consumer prices increased by 3.37 percent monthly, raising the annual inflation to 75.45 per cent, while the 5-month inflation rose to 22.72 per cent in the twelve months moving averages basis by 62.51 per cent in May 2024, according to the data released by Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat) on Monday.
Clothing and footwear, with 50.85 percent, was the main group that indicated the lowest annual increase. On the other hand, education, with 104.80 percent, was the main group where the highest annual increase was realised.
With 1.01 percent, communication was the leading group that indicated the lowest monthly increase. On the other hand, clothing and footwear, with 9.60 percent, was the main group where the highest monthly increase was realised.
In May 2024, within indices of 143 basic headings, the index of 23 basic headings decreased, and the index of 6 basic headings remained unchanged while the index of 114 basic headings increased.
A change in consumer prices, excluding unprocessed food, energy, alcoholic beverages, tobacco and gold, was realised in the previous month by 3.77 percent, in December of the last year by 23.05 percent, on the same month of the previous year by 72.99 percent and on the twelve months moving averages basis by 66.53 percent in May.
