UK House of Commons Approves Euthanasia Bill
London, November 30 (Hibya) - Members of the House of Commons today approved a bill allowing assisted dying for patients with terminal illnesses in England and Wales. According to the bill, the regulations will be stricter than those in other European countries.
The bill was passed by 330 votes to 275. Assisted dying will only be permitted for those expected to live less than six months, and the bill will apply exclusively to patients with terminal illnesses in England and Wales.
The bill was introduced to parliament following intense debates. Political parties did not make a binding decision on the matter, and each member of parliament was encouraged to vote according to their personal beliefs.
The bill has not yet become law. It will undergo further processing by parliament and be voted on in the House of Lords.
