UK to send 650 air defence missiles to Ukraine
London, September 6 (Hibya)—The British Ministry of Defence said in a press release that it will send 650 lightweight missiles to Ukraine to help it strengthen its air defences.
“These new British-made missiles will help Ukraine defend its people, infrastructure and territory against Putin's relentless attacks,” Defence Secretary John Healey said in a press release.
The announcement follows large-scale attacks on the Ukrainian cities of Poltava and Lviv earlier this week. It comes as John Healy is at the Ramstein base in Germany to discuss the situation in Ukraine.
According to the press release, the missiles will be delivered by the end of the year.
The total value of the missiles is said to be around £162 million.
