Ukraine attacked the Turkish Stream compressor station in Kuban
Moscow, January 13 (Hibya) – The Russian Ministry of Defense stated that Ukraine attempted to carry out a drone attack on a compressor station of the Turkish Stream gas pipeline near Anapa to disrupt gas supply to Europe.
The statement said, "On January 11, 2025, the Kiev regime attempted to attack the infrastructure of the Russkaya compressor station in the village of Gai-Kodzor (Krasnodar Krai), which supplies gas to European countries via the Turkish Stream pipeline, using nine aircraft-type UAVs."
The Turkish Stream is an export gas pipeline consisting of two lines: one designed to supply gas from Russia to Turkey via the Black Sea, and the other to Southern and Southeastern European countries. Its design capacity reaches 31.5 billion cubic meters annually. The pipeline became operational in January 2020. After the sabotage of Nord Stream, it remains the only route for uninterrupted Russian fuel supply to the European market.
The statement noted that all drones were shot down, and debris from one of them caused minor damage to the building and equipment of the gas measurement station. However, the military department reported that no injuries were sustained.
The Ministry of Defense stated that the compressor station continued to pump gas in normal mode.
