Ukraine: Ukrainians played critical roles in the most decisive moments of World War II
Kyiv, May 6 (Hibya) – The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine claimed that Ukrainians played critical roles in the most decisive moments of World War II.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine emphasized that Ukrainians played key roles in pivotal moments of World War II.
The statement read: "These contributions were often not fully appreciated. From the liberation of Auschwitz – where about 40% of the soldiers in the 1st Ukrainian Front were Ukrainians – to the raising of the iconic flag over the Reichstag in Berlin, and the signing of Japan’s surrender, Ukrainian soldiers and officers shaped the course of history. These stories present a legacy that shows how Ukrainian sacrifices and victories influenced the outcome of the war."
