Ukrainian President Zelensky spoke with NATO Secretary General Rutte
Kyiv, May 21 (Hibya) – Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky held a phone call with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte.
During the call, the two discussed the current situation on the ground, joint steps to be taken, and the necessity of increasing pressure on Russia.
Zelensky shared details about recent contacts with partners and stated that they assessed possible formats and platforms for potential ceasefire negotiations with Russia.
Zelensky said, “It is vital that all decisions are coordinated. Only then can sanctions be effective. It is now clear to everyone that a just peace cannot be achieved without applying pressure on Moscow.”
The leaders also discussed NATO-level cooperation and preparations for upcoming summits. They agreed to continue mutual contact.
