UN: As of Thursday, more resources have been consumed than can be renewed in 2024
New York, 2 August (Hibya)—The United Nations Development Office announced that as of Thursday, more resources had been consumed than could be renewed in 2024.
A statement from the UN Development Office noted that August 1st is Earth Overshoot Day, and "As of Thursday, we have consumed more resources than can be renewed in 2024. This is an urgent wake-up call for each of us to take action now for a more sustainable future for people and the planet."
