UNICEF: 50 children killed in Gaza within 48 hours
New York, November 3 (Hibya) - UNICEF Secretary-General Catherine Russel announced that over 50 children have been killed in Jabalia, Gaza, within 48 hours.
Russel wrote: “Along with the horrific number of children killed in northern Gaza in other attacks, these recent events represent another dark page in one of the darkest periods of this terrible war.”
The statement added, “This has already been a deadly weekend of attacks in northern Gaza. In the last 48 hours alone, more than 50 children have reportedly been killed in Jabalia, where two residential buildings housing hundreds of people were destroyed.”
It further stated, "And this morning, a personal vehicle of a UNICEF staff member working on the polio vaccination campaign was fired upon while passing through Jabalia - Elnazla, apparently by a drone. The car was damaged. Fortunately, the staff member was unharmed but deeply shaken."
