Deniz polisinden Adalar çevresinde 'deniz taksi' denetimi

Booker’s speech lasted 25 hours and 5 minutes. It began Monday at 7:00 p.m. and was not intended to filibuster but to warn about the “serious and urgent” threat that Donald Trump’s administration poses to democracy and the American people.

At the start of his remarks, Booker said: “I rise with the intent of disrupting the normal operation of the United States Senate for as long as physically possible. I rise tonight because I sincerely believe our country is in crisis.”

The Democratic senator discussed actions by the Trump administration that he claimed violated the US Constitution.

“This is not about right or left. Don’t let them call it partisan politics. It’s not. It’s about right and wrong. America, this is a moral moment. Does the Constitution live in your heart?” he asked.

Among the issues he criticized was the role of Trump’s adviser Elon Musk in cutting and eliminating public projects without congressional involvement.

Booker had to remain standing the entire time and could not step away to use the restroom. Near the end, he joked: “I just want to get through this and then tend to a few physical needs I’m feeling.”

The previous record holder was South Carolina Senator Strom Thurmond, who in 1957 spoke for 24 hours against civil rights legislation for Black Americans.
