US Secretary of State Rubio: The war must end now
Washington, May 17 (Hibya) – US Secretary of State made a statement regarding his phone call today with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.
Rubio stated that he reiterated President Joe Biden’s message during the call, saying, “Death and destruction must end now.”
He emphasized that the United States has presented a comprehensive and strong peace plan and welcomed the prisoner exchange agreement reached in Istanbul. “We must not miss this great opportunity. The time to end the war is now,” Rubio said.
He underlined the need to open space for diplomacy and called on all parties to act responsibly. The Secretary of State also stressed that Russia must take concrete steps for the peace process to move forward.
