Dutch Foreign Minister David van Weel held a phone call with his Ukrainian counterpart Andrii Sybiha to assess the latest situation on the ground.
Van Weel drew attention to Ukraine’s difficult situation under harsh winter conditions and ongoing attacks.
Referring to the humanitarian and strategic situation in Ukraine, Van Weel said: “I contacted my colleague Andrii Sybiha. Temperatures in Ukraine are dropping far below zero. At the same time, Russia continues its attacks on civilians and energy infrastructure.”
Stressing that diplomatic pressure must continue despite the negotiation process, Van Weel concluded: “This shows how vital it is to apply pressure on Russia even during ongoing talks.”
