U.S. Vice President James David Vance issued a statement after an attempted attack on his home in Cincinnati.

Vance noted that they were not at home at the time of the incident and thanked the teams who intervened.

Referring to the details of the incident and the role of security forces, Vance said: “Thank you all for your well wishes regarding the attack on our home. As I understand it, a person with serious mental health issues tried to break in by smashing the windows. I am grateful to the Secret Service and the Cincinnati Police Department for their swift response. We had not even arrived home yet, as we had already returned to Washington, D.C.”

Making an appeal to the media and emphasizing the safety of his children, Vance concluded: “We have a request for the media. We try to protect our children as much as possible from the realities of public service life. In this context, I am skeptical about the news value of publishing images of our home with holes in the windows.”
