WHO: Breast cancer is the most common cancer among women
Geneva, October 1 (Hibya) – The World Health Organization (WHO) announced that breast cancer is the most common cancer among women worldwide, accounting for about a quarter of all cancers diagnosed in women each year.
In a statement, the WHO emphasized that October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
The statement highlighted that breast cancer is the most common cancer among women worldwide, accounting for about one in four cancers diagnosed annually in women, and added:
“One in every six cancer deaths among women is due to breast cancer, making it the leading cause of cancer-related deaths in women globally. When detected at an early stage and treated appropriately, breast cancer is largely curable.”
