Zelensky: Criminal cases should not drag on for years without legal rulings
Kyiv, July 23 (Hibya) – Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that criminal cases should not drag on for years without legal rulings, adding, “Those who work against Ukraine should not feel comfortable or gain immunity from the inevitability of punishment.”
President Zelensky announced that he had gathered all the heads of Ukraine’s law enforcement and anti-corruption agencies, as well as the Prosecutor General.
He said they held a much-needed meeting: “We all have a common enemy – the Russian occupiers. To defend the Ukrainian state, we need a strong law enforcement and anti-corruption system – one that ensures a real sense of justice.”
Zelensky stressed that criminal cases should not take years without proper legal conclusions, and added:
“We all hear what society is saying. We see what people expect from state institutions: the delivery of justice and efficient operation of every agency. We discussed the necessary administrative and legal decisions to strengthen every institution’s performance, eliminate existing contradictions, and remove threats. Everyone will work together. We will provide political-level support.”
