Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that the soldiers defending the Ukrainian state are being honored.

Zelensky stated that today, the warriors defending Ukraine’s positions and state are being honored: "Wherever a Ukrainian infantryman advances, the Ukrainian flag flies. On the most difficult fronts, our infantry always stands. They hold the defense, lead assaults, stop the enemy, and protect our land. Mechanized, motorized infantry, rifle units, assault and mountain assault troops are the backbone of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The courage, strength, and skill of our infantry are undeniable. Our gratitude to the Ukrainian infantry defending our state is unwavering. As long as the infantry stands, Ukraine stands. On this Infantry Day, I thank our warriors for their strength, resilience, and daily struggle. We are proud of you. Victory to Ukraine!"
