Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky made a statement following the election results in Portugal.

Zelensky said, “I congratulate Antonio Jose Seguro on his victory in the presidential election and wish him success. Portugal supports Ukraine and the Ukrainian people in this war against Russian aggression, and we will always be grateful for all the assistance provided.”

Emphasizing the importance of strategic and diplomatic relations between the two countries, Zelensky stated, “We value the friendship between our nations and hope that ties between Ukraine and Portugal will grow even stronger. We look forward to continuing our joint efforts to achieve a dignified peace for Ukraine and all of Europe.”

Calling for unity for Europe’s security, Zelensky added, “We must remain united and do everything possible to protect our people and strengthen Europe.”
