85 patients from Gaza evacuated to Abu Dhabi for special care
Geneva, July 31 (Hibya) - World Health Organization (WHO) Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus announced that 85 patients and critically injured individuals, including 35 children, have been evacuated from Gaza to Abu Dhabi for special care.
WHO Director-General Ghebreyesus announced that 85 patients and critically injured individuals, including 35 children, have been evacuated from Gaza to the capital of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Abu Dhabi, for special care.
Ghebreyesus noted that this is the largest medical evacuation since October 2023: "The patients suffered from cancer, injuries, blood diseases, congenital disorders, neurological disorders, heart, liver, and kidney diseases. 63 family members and caregivers accompanied the patients."
He hoped this evacuation would pave the way for creating corridors through all possible routes, adding: "Thousands of patients are suffering unnecessarily. We call for a ceasefire above all and always."
