Qatar's Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulaziz Al Khulaifi held a telephone conversation with Syrian Foreign Minister Asaad Al Shaibani.

The two sides discussed enhancing bilateral cooperation, the latest developments in Syria, and regional mediation efforts.

During the call, the Minister of State reaffirmed the State of Qatar's full support for Syria's sovereignty and unity, as well as for the aspirations of its brotherly people for stability, development, and prosperity.

Al Khulaifi stressed the importance of all parties remaining open to ongoing mediation efforts, noting that expanding opportunities to address the root causes of the crisis through peaceful means and dialogue would ultimately lead to a lasting agreement that prevents renewed escalation.
