President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev sent a condolence message to Australian Prime Minister Albanese. In his message, Aliyev said: “We learned with deep sorrow about the loss of lives and injuries as a result of the terrorist attack carried out during Hanukkah celebrations in Sydney.”

Condemning the attack, Aliyev stated: “We feel profound anger in the face of this horrific terrorist act targeting peaceful civilians and strongly condemn terrorism in all its manifestations.”

Aliyev also added: “On this tragic occasion, on my own behalf and on behalf of the people of Azerbaijan, I extend my deepest condolences to the families and relatives of the victims, to the people of Australia, and wish a speedy recovery to the injured.”
