Asian markets decline except for Nifty
Istanbul, June 23 (Hibya) - Asian markets showed a mixed performance on the first trading day of the week.
Asian markets showed a mixed performance on the first trading day of the week. While the Indian stock market posted a slight gain, markets in Australia, Japan, Hong Kong, and China declined.
In India, the NIFTY 50 index rose by 0.09 percent to 24,124.55 points. The S&P/ASX 200 index fell by 0.07 percent to 8,809.70 points.
In Japan, the Nikkei 225 index traded at 71,188.61 points, down 1.61 percent, while Hong Kong’s Hang Seng Index (HSI) declined by 1.13 percent to 23,499.88 points.
China’s Shanghai Composite Index lost 0.37 percent and finished the day at 4,147.549 points.
