Asian stock markets start the week on a positive note: All major indexes except Japan post gains
Istanbul, July 27 (Hibya) – Asia-Pacific markets showed an overall positive performance in the first trading session of the week. Stock markets in Australia, India, Hong Kong, and Shanghai advanced, while Japan's Nikkei Index posted a slight decline.
Investor risk appetite remained strong across Asian stock markets during the first trading session of the week. Buying activity dominated the region, while Japanese markets underperformed other major indexes.
Australia's benchmark ASX 200 Index rose 1.19% to 8,877.00 points, delivering one of the strongest performances of the day.
India's Nifty 50 Index gained 0.68% to 23,929.10 points, while Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index climbed 0.81% to 25,166.58 points.
On mainland China, the Shanghai Composite Index advanced 0.40% to 3,829.385 points, extending its positive momentum.
In contrast, Japan's Nikkei Index slipped 0.09% to 64,556.01 points. The modest decline reflected investors' cautious stance despite the region's broader upward trend.
Investors continue to closely monitor the global economic outlook, expectations regarding central bank monetary policies, and developments in corporate earnings.
The strong level of risk appetite across the region remains the key factor supporting the upward trend in Asian markets.
