At least 60 killed in Israeli attacks on Gaza
Stockholm, October 2 (Hibya) - At least 60 Palestinians were killed overnight in Israeli military strikes in the Gaza Strip, including those in a school, local media reported, citing medics in the area.
Local media reported that Israeli tanks raided several areas in the eastern and central parts of Khan Younis in the southern Gaza Strip before partially withdrawing, killing at least 40 people and wounding dozens more.
In Gaza City, a school housing displaced families was also attacked, killing 17 people, leaving 22 dead.
The Israeli military has repeatedly claimed that its operation inside Gaza was targeting Hamas, not civilians, and has claimed the lives of more than 350 Israeli soldiers. Palestinian sources estimate the death toll in Gaza at well over 40,000.
