Zelensky stated that he had a very extensive discussion with Meloni, expressing gratitude for her close attention to diplomatic efforts and for Italy’s upcoming support to Ukraine’s energy infrastructure through equipment that will be delivered in the coming days.

He added that the meeting addressed the outcomes of ongoing engagements with the American side, current expectations, and existing challenges. Zelensky emphasized that much more work is needed to ensure that Russia truly commits to ending the war.

President Zelensky said: “Italy clearly supports the need to ensure real security and prevent the resurgence of war,” adding that they are preparing joint European efforts to make diplomacy more effective.
