Australian Foreign Minister Wong meets with South Korean counterpart
Canberra, February 20 (Hibya) – Australian Foreign Minister Penny Wong met with South Korean Foreign Minister Cho Tae-yul.
Australian Foreign Minister Wong announced that she met with South Korean Foreign Minister Cho Tae-yul ahead of the G20 summit in South Africa.
She emphasized that Australia and South Korea are working together to ensure peace and security in the region, stating: "We oppose the increasing cooperation between North Korea and Russia and the threats it poses to our region."
Wong added that Australia is calling on Russia to end its cooperation with North Korea and to cease its brutal and illegal war against Ukraine. "Australia and South Korea will continue to work together to deepen our Comprehensive Strategic Partnership and make our region better," she stated.
