EU High Representative Borrell stated that the humanitarian crisis and food insecurity in Gaza are reaching inhumane levels with each passing day.

According to the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), the situation is the worst since World War II. Borrell added: "The Integrated Food Security Phase Classification report indicates that by April 2025, the food crisis will reach catastrophic levels for 345,000 people."

Borrell stressed that it is challenging to assess the magnitude of hunger, as the health sector is almost entirely collapsed and access for observers is limited. "The time has come to end this, ensure unhindered access for humanitarian aid, international observers, the press, and secure the release of hostages," he concluded.
