Brekelmans: As a matter of defense, we are prepared for various scenarios
Amsterdam, 10 January (Hibya) – Dutch Minister of Defence Ruben Brekelmans stated that they are prepared for various scenarios from a defence perspective, saying: “There has been no need for an additional deployment, but we remain on alert.”
Dutch Defence Minister Brekelmans said that, following all recent developments, it is valuable to maintain a presence in the Kingdom’s Caribbean part.
Stating that there is no direct threat from Venezuela to the islands and that no such threat exists at present, Brekelmans said: “As a matter of defence, we are prepared for various scenarios.”
Brekelmans added that there was no need for an additional deployment, but that they remain on alert.
