Carney: More than 5,000 personnel are fighting wildfires across Canada
Ottawa, July 19 (Hibya) – Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney announced that he met with federal personnel supporting ongoing wildfire response efforts, particularly in the northwestern part of Ontario.
Carney said Canada is experiencing one of its most severe wildfire seasons in recent years.
He stated that extreme heat waves and record drought conditions have intensified the fires. Carney said that more than 5,000 firefighters, along with approximately 300 firefighting aircraft, helicopters, and evacuation aircraft, are operating across the country, adding: “This vast and complex effort is being carried out through the dedication of brave people working tirelessly to keep Canadians safe.”
