Carney: We are deepening our trade and standing firmly with Ukraine
Ottawa, May 9 (Hibya) – Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney, in a message published on the occasion of Europe Day, emphasized the deep-rooted unity of values between Canada and Europe and highlighted the strengthening of strategic partnerships in the fields of defense and trade.
Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney stated that in a period of increasing global uncertainty, commitment to democratic values and solidarity among allies play a more critical role than ever.
Referring to the shared foundations with Europe, Carney said, “Canada and Europe are united by the values of pluralism, the rule of law, and democracy.”
Emphasizing support for Ukraine, Carney stated, “On Europe Day, we are strengthening this foundation by building new strategic partnerships, deepening our trade, and standing firmly with Ukraine.”
Evaluating the current global climate, Carney said, “In a more uncertain world, Canada and Europe are creating greater certainty, security, and prosperity on both sides of the Atlantic.”
