The U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) announced that two American service members were killed and one remains missing during defensive operations against Iranian ballistic missile and unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) attacks carried out in Jordan on July 17.

The statement said that four U.S. service members were transferred to hospitals in Jordan for medical treatment and were discharged after receiving care. Other personnel who sustained minor injuries have returned to duty.

CENTCOM added that the identities of the fallen service members will be released after their families have been officially notified.
