China's deep-sea natural gas field achieves record gas production
Beijing, May 5 (Hibya) - The Shenhai-1 ultra-deep-sea natural gas operation developed by China has recorded over 8 billion cubic meters of natural gas and over 800,000 cubic meters of oil in total to date.
The Shenhai-1 ultra-deep-sea natural gas operation developed by China has recorded over 8 billion cubic meters of natural gas and over 800,000 cubic meters of oil in total to date. The Shenhai Yihao ultra-deep-sea natural gas field, China's most profound, was opened for operation on June 25, 2021.
The field operator, China National Offshore Oil Corporation, announced that construction of the second phase of the Shenhai-1 project is ongoing. When this construction, aimed at enhancing gas production efficiency, is completed, 23 deep-sea gas wells and two subsea production system sets will be installed.
The Shenhai-1, located 150 kilometres off Sanya in Hainan Province, South China, can operate at 1,500 meters in the ocean.
