New York, June 13 (Hibya) – United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres condemned all military escalation in the Middle East.

Expressing concern over Israeli strikes on nuclear facilities in Iran, Guterres stated: “Talks between Iran and the US about the status of Iran’s nuclear program are ongoing.”
The Secretary-General reminded UN Member States of their obligation to act in accordance with the UN Charter and international law, and urged both sides to exercise maximum restraint to avoid a deeper conflict the region cannot afford.
