China's Permanent Representative to the UN Office in Geneva and other international organizations, Chen Xu, called on the international community to accelerate the peace process on the Palestinian issue.

Chen Xu outlined China's position during the 60th session of the UN Human Rights Council, in discussions regarding human rights violations in Palestine and other occupied Arab territories.

He pointed out that the conflicts between Palestine and Israel have led to an unprecedented humanitarian catastrophe. However, Israel insists on advancing its plan to seize Gaza City, speeding up the annexation of the West Bank, and even launched an airstrike on the Hamas negotiation delegation in Qatar.

Chen Xu stressed that these actions by Israel seriously violate international law, infringe on the rights to life and development of the Palestinian people and neighboring countries, and directly undermine stability in the Middle East.

He called on the international community to speed up the resolution process on the Palestinian issue, achieve a comprehensive ceasefire in Gaza, revive the two-state solution, and protect peace and stability in the Middle East.

The Chinese envoy underlined that China will continue working with the international community to promote a comprehensive, fair, and lasting resolution of the Palestinian issue as soon as possible.
