According to CCTV, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi met in Yuxi, Yunnan Province, with Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Prak Sokhonn to discuss the latest developments along the Cambodia–Thailand border.

Wang stated that China is ready to provide humanitarian assistance to Cambodia to help resettle people displaced from border areas.

Emphasizing that the talks held after the joint statement calling for a ceasefire are an important step toward peace, Wang said: “A ceasefire is the beginning of peace-building.”

The statement noted that while China–Cambodia relations were discussed, the parties agreed that progress has been made in building an “all-weather community with a shared future” between the two countries.
