Climate activist hospitalized after 89-day hunger strike
Stockholm, June 4 (Hibia) – A climate activist who participated in a major hunger strike in Berlin, Germany's capital, was hospitalized.
The movement behind the strike, “Stay hungry until you are honest”, stated that 49-year-old Wolfgang Metzeler-Kick has not eaten for 89 days and is currently in life-threatening condition.
Climate activists have been on strike in Germany's capital in recent weeks. Some of them have serious health problems due to long fasting.
Participants in the strike want German Chancellor Olaf Scholz to make a statement from the government on climate issues.
They say it should be noted here that “the climate crisis extremely threatens the continued existence of human civilization.”
