Tsahkna: Patarei is a symbol of our determination to defend freedom
Tallinn, May 28 (Hibya) – Estonian Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna visited Patarei Fortress, a site symbolizing repression and oppression from the Soviet era.
Minister Tsahkna recalled that the fortress had been a place where many people were imprisoned, including political opponents and former heads of state of Estonia.
Tsahkna said: “This week, I visited Patarei Fortress. It is a chilling symbol of Soviet terror. Today, as Russia’s war against Ukraine continues in full force, Patarei reminds us why we must unite against tyranny and defend freedom with determination.”
