UK Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper said that Russia has once again chosen escalation over peace with its latest large-scale air strikes on Kyiv, stressing that the United Kingdom will continue strengthening Ukraine's air defence and increasing international pressure on Moscow.

Highlighting the devastating impact of the attack on civilians, including children, Cooper said: "With this horrific assault on Kyiv, Russia has once again chosen escalation over peace, launching dozens of missiles and hundreds of drones that killed and injured civilians, including children."

Reaffirming London's unwavering solidarity with Kyiv and its defence support for Ukraine, Cooper stated: "We will continue increasing international pressure on Russia and strengthening Ukraine's air defence. We stand in solidarity with Ukraine."
